Poem: “Moods” (by Mary Margaret Park)
“Moods”
by Mary Margaret Park
our moods are many things
a kite a sail a coin a cane
soaring high into to the air
or tumbling back into despair
our emotions frame the hours
casual keepers of glass towers
with no regard to flights of fancy
casting stones or sitting calmly
at will they shape the day
with brightest joy or blackest thunder
breaking thoughts as they plunder
these fickle stewards of repose

This poem reminds me on how our mood affects our days, its like when you have a bad day and you feel grumpy and you accidentally yell to your kids. Bad moods just ruins things

Emotions are indeed the most complicated thing of being a human. Most of the time it affects our way of thinking and often times than not we make the wrong decision.
the second paragraph reminds me about my father who always tells me that if you are emotionally high sit down, take a deep breath think of nothing but the word calm down, he always say “don’t let your emotion create a hurricane”. I guess he is right.
I am quite guilty with the mood thing though, hehe! it can go as high as it gets and sometimes just because we are caught off guard we often times drop like a plane out of control and the worst thing is that we often drag people out “colateral damage sometimes”.
nice piece I like the way you use the words, romantic in structure that talks about real human emotion.
I’ll keep reading

nice poem, yes, our moods sometimes can be likened to many things.
the most important thing, i think, is try to keep a high spirit, and don’t let the bad mood control our happiness for too long time.

Quite a thoughtful and meaningful piece of writing! There has been a very good use of metaphors. We all can relate to the mood swings expressed in this poem.

The poem shows that moods are very hard to manage. It gives a bad impression if we are on a bad mood. Nice job!

“Moods” captures well the emotion attached to this state of being; its rhyme and flow are well timed. Being a bit old school, I do find the lack of punctuation and capitalization unpolished and distracting; but the heart of its essence beats through in resounding clarity. I rather like it, I do.

Indeed our emotions and mood are unpredictable they are sometimes high and sometimes they become so down and in a day only it fluctuate and that’s what we call life.
